Happy holidays from our family to yours! During the holiday season, we know how daunting it may seem to find and buy a gift for everyone on your list. This year, why not ease some of the stress and give a different kind of gift—the kind you can’t wrap?

Whether you’re stumped for present ideas or just want to switch things up, we have seven great ideas for meaningful gifts you can’t wrap this season.

Pay a visit to a friend or family member

Keeping in touch with friends and family is always important—but especially during the holidays! This season, one of the greatest gifts you could possibly give is your time. Pay a surprise visit to a friend or family member who you haven’t seen in a while and may not be able to be with during the holidays. This is one of the best ways to show that you care, and that you’re still thinking of your loved one despite not being physically near.

Do house or yard work for a neighbor

During the holiday season, lend a helping hand to neighbors by doing work for them in their homes or yards. You may know someone that has to take care of all these chores on their own—and during the holidays, the hectic running around and shopping can make it hard to handle it all. The small favor of raking leaves, weeding or sweeping up a front porch can be an enormously meaningful gift to someone who needs it this holiday season.

Prepare dinner for loved ones

For many families, the holidays are all about family gathering around delicious food. Get everyone together to enjoy a meal you made from scratch! You will be able to enjoy the company of loved ones, and they will appreciate the time and care you took in making the meal.

Offer your help to someone who needs it

If you have a special talent or ability, consider using it to help someone who needs it this holiday season. Are you a graphic designer or master chef who’s willing to donate their time and talent to a friend or family member in need? Whatever your skills may be, now is a great time to offer them to a loved one. The holidays are all about giving, so use this time to give what you’re best at!

Serve the community

Finally, this holiday season you can serve your community in a positive way. There is no shortage of things you can do and activities to try to help your neighbors and community members in need! Consider volunteering at a local food bank or soup kitchen to serve families (and brighten their spirits!) during the holiday season. This can dramatically improve the holiday experience for families who need a little help this season—and you can rest easy knowing you did something great to help them.

In addition to the traditional gadgets, toys and clothes on your shopping list this season, be sure to give a few gifts that can’t be wrapped as well—it might be the best thing you do this year!
